It is only 80 metres from the Palazzo Vecchio. The Uffizi Gallery is a two-minute walk away, whilst the Duomo, Pitti Palace, and the Ponte Vecchio are slightly further.

There is also a fold-out sofa bed in the lounge room and an armchair which can become a single bed. Both the folding beds are suitable for children.

The rooms are tastefully furnished, cosy and quiet. There is also a small, but fully equipped kitchen. Perfect for trying your hand at Italian cuisine from the fresh ingredients bought from the nearby Farmer’s market. There are excellent Italian restaurants nearby if you prefer to eat out.

The Neighbourhood

The apartment is on Via dei Cerchi, a pedestrian street, so is quiet and peaceful. The street opens onto perhaps the most famous piazza in Italy – the birthplace of the Renaissance – the Piazza della Signoria. With its glorious sculptures, including Michelangelo’s David, and Cellini’s Perseus, culture lovers will love the location. To pass the huge bronze of the Grand Duke Cosimo de’ Medici on his great stallion as you walk home from dinner is a memorable experience. Cafés, bars, restaurants, a cinema, food shops, boutiques and speciality shops can all be found in the immediate vicinity. It is 10 minutes on foot from the main train station.

• Because it’s in an 800-year-old building, the windows are not large, and there is no direct sunlight.
• The apartment can sleep six beds, plus two children in the folding beds. It is best suited to a family, as there is one bathroom.
