Located near Duras in Lot et Garonne, this delightful gîte in France with pool is one of three houses on a domaine of 2.4 hectares, La Fleur de Savignac. Dating from 1706, old fashioned charm is combined with contemporary comfort. The cottage has a living room, 1 bedroom and a bathroom. You can relax by the 10 x 5 metre swimming pool (shared with guests from the next door gîte). Or enjoy a barbeque in your private garden or game of petanque. There is also an outside dining area. The property is private and quiet, with beautiful views. You will wake up to just the sound of bird song and occasional church bells.

The cottage is 45 sq metres (484 sq feet). There is a double bed and a baby cot in the bedroom, plus a fold out couch in the living room which can sleep an adult or child. The small kitchen has a gas cook top, microwave/grill and fridge. Kitchen equipment includes a Nespresso machine and a cafetiére. The TV offers French, English and Dutch stations. There is high speed Fibre Optic Wifi. The laundry facilities are shared with the other gîte in the domaine.

The Neighbourhood

La Fleur de Savignac is located three kilometres from the historic town of Duras – you can glimpse the 13th century chateau in the distance. There are shops and good restaurants there. The local area hosts numerous country markets, including the Saturday market at St Foy Le Grande, feted as the “best market in France”. You can also visit local wineries, take walks, go kayaking, horse-riding and take part in the many other activities nearby. To make the most of the area you will need a car, and on site parking is provided.

Savignac de Duras is on the border of Lot et Garonne in South West France, close to Perigord and Gironde. The town of Duras is three kilometres (one mile) away; Sainte Foy le Grande is 19 kilometres (11 miles), while Sainte Émilion and Bergerac are both 40 kilometres (24 miles).

• There is a baby cot and high chair.
• The pool has a low fence and gate, as well as an alarm. However, it’s not 100% child proof. At all times children are the responsibility of parents while on the property.
