Handpicked special places to stay
Le Caméléon Bleu is a boutique holiday rental company. We cater for travellers who love staying in buildings with charm and character. Our guests tend to be experienced travellers. People who love the independence of self-catered accommodation, but who want a level of personal service over and above that provided by anonymous booking portals.
All properties included in the collection are personally vetted by Le Caméléon Bleu’s owner, Suzanna Clarke. Suzanna, a New Zealander now living in France, is an experienced host. She has been an Airbnb Superhost, a VRBO Premier Partner and a Booking.com Preferred Partner for more than a decade.
Suzanna is a ‘serial renovator’. A former photojournalist, whose work has featured in leading interior design and travel magazines, and a newspaper Arts editor, Suzanna has an eye for what makes a property a special place to stay.
As well as having charm and quality, for a property to make it into the collection the owner must offer a high level of service to guests. All the rentals have professional property managers on hand to help guests during their stay. We work with a small number of trusted partners who share the same values.

“As a regular traveller, I understand where you stay is essential to the enjoyment of your holiday. Ambience. Intriguing architectural details. Comfortable places to sit and sleep. A well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare a memorable meal. All enhance your experience.
Whether it was a riad in Morocco, a city apartment or a farm in France, I have spent much of my adult life as a renovator of historic buildings. I have combined my passion for architectural gems with my 15 years of experience in managing holiday rentals in France and Morocco to launch Caméléon Bleu.
Together with my trusted team, we have hosted hundreds of guests over the years. We aim to ensure that, not only is the location exceptional, but your stay goes smoothly and you have all the information you need. I would love to welcome you to one of our beautiful properties.”
While vacationing in Morocco, Suzanna Clarke and her husband, Sandy, are inspired to buy a dilapidated, centuries-old riad in Fez. They aim to restore it to its original splendor, using only traditional craftsmen and handmade materials. A House in Fez is a remarkable adventure that is bewildering, at times hilarious, and ultimately immensely rewarding.
